Yoruba Language Use in Lagos State Legislative Assembly: Challenges and Prospects

Abstract
 This study examined the challenges and prospects of use Yoruba Language for legislative business in Lagos State House Assembly. The Assembly adopted language its deliberation every Thursday 2007. made an in-depth interview guide to elicit responses from research subjects, who were drawn among Legislative officers, aides, assistants, totaling ten. In addition, we consulted archival notes, Order Paper, Proceedings House, newspapers, other recorded material. Our findings revealed that there is insufficient number reporters, while some legislators are still trying grapple with Yoruba.
